To be honest Las Vegas is not really for us, it's a place to come to so we can move onto better things. The sights down town are all fake - Caesars palace has a mall that is designed (very convincingly) to seem like an outdoor Italian piazza - complete with reproduction Trevi fountain. There is an Eiffel Tower, an Egyptian pyramid, "English" and "Irish" pubs and much much more.
The entire city seems dedicated to relieving tourists of their money as quickly and efficiently as possibly - indeed tourists can be relieved in other ways too, "Girls delivered to your door" was the advertised promise on a mobile billboard we saw...
Our apartment is linked to a Casino, ("Palms casino resort"), and the lady at the reception proudly described the facilities they provide: pools, restaurants, cafes, cinema, shop, gambling tables and slot machines, (obviously), etc.etc. "Wow" I said, "there's no need to go anywhere else!".
"That's the idea" she replied with a fixed smile...
Still recovering from yesterday's travelling we have chilled out so far today, lounging around the pool and even went to see a film, (help we're trapped in a Vegas Casino complex!), but intend to check out the local bus service to the "Strip" in a while, the Bellagio fountains are meant to be good to see.
$5.... The "Rest rooms " here are expensive!
